The locations Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau are perfect starting points for alpine mountain tours, because the Upper Isar Valley is framed by the Karwendel, Ester, Wetterstein and Soiern Mountains. These high-alpine places of regeneration rank amongst the jewels of the Bavarian Alps. Already King Ludwig started to romanticize, surrounded by such beautiful panoramas, and retreated into the mountains to recuperate.
