A typical Bavarian “Brotzeit” (light meal) – you will find of course in Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau, as ingredients and old recipes from the Alpine region have formed their gastronomy. Rustic huts and traditional alpine meadows as well as beautiful old dining rooms with Mittenwald beer and traditional food and drink on the menu are by no means everything. In some of the restaurants and cafés, they like to serve up traditional food with a new twist. In Mittenwald and Krün two restaurants are even regularly awarded stars. And many guests come from far away for cream puffs or cake.
