Finzbach Gorge

“Mucksmejslastaad” – Very quiet! Above the Finzbach Gorge, west of Krün and Wallgau, silence is key to fully enjoy the roar of the waterfall. This also allows visitors to calmly explore the small, delicate protected area for rare animals and plants along the hiking paths. The partly rocky steep slopes are covered with spruce, beech, and alder trees, tightly enclosing the narrow bed of the wild Finzbach.

To Rustic Alpine Pastures

From the foot of Finzbach Gorge, you can set off to four alpine pastures: Finzalm, Krüner Alm, Wallgauer Alm, and Esterberg Alm. The trail follows the Finz over narrow wooden walkways and small bridges. Staying on these paths is essential, as the sensitive gorge can be dangerous—rockfalls or sudden rises in water levels are possible.

The hike offers a relaxed nature experience: first alongside the crystal-clear stream, then through small forests with diverse trees and open clearings. From the viewpoint above Finzbach Gorge, the roar of the “Hoher Fall” waterfall reaches your ears.

Let’s go to the Finz!
