Winter Hike to the hut Korbinianhuette

Tour description

The tour starts at Mittenwald's station square. This can be reached by public transport. Alternatively, there is free parking at the station in Mittenwald. Directly in front of the station, follow the avenue to the parish church of St. Peter and Paul with its high church tower in the town centre. Here you pass the pedestrian zone at Obermarkt and the district of Im Gries. After the church, keep right after 150 steps in Gries and follow the Gröblweg. Approx. 200 metres further on, turn left onto the designated hiking trail parallel to the road and follow it until you have to briefly cross the Kranzbergstraße in order to continue on the opposite hiking trail to the Gröblalm. Shortly before the Alpengasthof Gröblalm the trail leads up the mountain to the left. Here you follow the signs to the Korbinianhütte and reach it after about 25 minutes. After a stop for refreshments, the trail climbs another 70 metres to the Kranzberg chairlift mountain station.
Now you have reached the highest point of the tour at 1215 metres. The 307 metres in altitude back to the valley can be done in about 35 minutes. If you prefer, you can also take the chairlift back down to the valley in about 15 minutes.
The last stretch from the Kranzberg chairlift valley station to the centre of Mittenwald or Mittenwald railway station must be done on foot. Duration approx. 10 minutes.
