Start: Wallgau at the town hall - Destination: Wallgau at the town hall
Nature enthusiasts get their money's worth on this winter hike.
Through partly untouched nature, the trail leads along the dried-up river course of the Finz and, if the tour is extended, past the largest lake in Alpenwelt Karwendel, the Barmsee.
The starting point of this winter hike is the Wallgauer Haus des Gastes. From the bus stop at the town hall you can get there in a few minutes following the signs. Pass the tennis courts and the ice rink and turn left onto the traffic-calmed road and then right before the bridge until you cross the Finzbach stream after about 2.5 kilometres. Then follow the signs to the right in the direction of Barmsee. It is possible to walk around the Barmsee in about 1 hour. To stay on the original route, turn left before the lake, walk through the Bannwald forest and past Café Einkehr. Always follow the path straight ahead until you reach the starting point again, the Haus des Gastes.
