Pleasure bike tour over the Isar and humpback meadows

Tour description

From Mittenwald railway station, first head east to Dammkarstrasse, cross the level crossing on the right and then continue straight ahead over the Isar bridge. Then follow the cycle path to the right along the Isar to the barracks. The path continues along the Seinsbach stream to the Isar reservoir near Krün, where swans and other water birds cavort. If you like, you can then continue towards Wallgau to the Auhütte, which tempts you with snacks, coffee and pastries in early summer and late autumn. Otherwise, about 1.5 km after the reservoir, turn left over the bridge to Krün. There you go up the small hill to the maypole and then west towards the Barmsee district. For the "big appetite", the Hotel Barmsee is recommended there, a few kilometres from Krün. From there, continue to Klais and here pass under the railway crossing. Over the "Quicken", a dreamlike path leads through the humpbacked meadows typical of the region to the Schmalensee. From there it is a minimal final climb back to the centre of Mittenwald.
