Start: City Hall Wallgau - Destination: Mittenwald train station
The varied and extensive hike from Wallgau via Aschau continues to Mittenwald. Hike along the idyllic Isarstausee near Krün to the Aschauer Alm (not managed) and get to know all three holiday resorts of the Alpenwelt Karwendel along the way, in addition to the unique nature.
From the town hall in Wallgau, accessible by the bus stop of the same name, walk across the Kurpark into Flößerstraße towards Isarsteg (hikers' car park at the Isarsteg). Walk over the footbridge and then right in the direction of Krün, along the Isarstausee and on to the Seinsalm (not managed). At the fork near the Seinsalmhikers follow the forest road or the signs in the direction of Aschauer Alm (not managed). Past the chapel at the Aschauer Alm, the pleasant forest road leads to the Hiking car park north in Mittenwald. From there, you can reach the historic centre of Mittenwald via the walks along the Rain in around 30 minutes.
Alternative route & further tips
With the Alpenwelt Karwendel guest card you can use the hiking and guest bus free of charge to get back to Wallgau. In addition, Alpenwelt Karwendel guests also travel free of charge on the hiking buses to Lautersee & Ferchensee.
