Hike around the Isar reservoir near Krün

Tour description

The starting point for the hike is Krün town centre, accessible via the bus stop of the same name. At the maypole you walk along Schöttlkarspitzstraße to the town hall, continue down the hill towards the Isar (if you arrive by car, there is a hikers' car park "Im Gries"). Cross the Isar bridge to the right through the sparse forest in the direction of the Isar reservoir. With a magnificent view of the Karwendelgebirge, you pass numerous active stations and displays that encourage children to play and explore. On reaching the clearing, a wooden raft invites you to take a rest before continuing along the reservoir,where you can observe swans and waterfowl. After a short climb (approx. 20 metres), at the entrance to the village, keep right along the Isar via the pebble path back to the starting point.
