To the north of the Karwendel lies the Soierngruppe, and to the north of this lies the Isar, which flows in a completely natural state towards Sylvensteinsee. Mountain bikers will find wonderful routes in this area. The tour to the Fischbachalm is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful routes in the region.
The starting point is the parking lot "Im Gries" in Krün. From here, turn left over the Isar bridge. After a short while, the forest road branches off; keep right here, following the signs in the direction of Fischbachalm. The path climbs steadily, sometimes very steeply, until you reach the Fischbachalm at around 1,407 meters in the Soiern area. The hut is partially open during the summer months of July and August (please check the daily notice board). The way back is recommended via the same route. As the path contains some steep passages, it is important to descend carefully.
