General infos

Alpine Risks - The District in Focus

The trend shows: Natural hazards in mountainous areas are increasing. The melting of glaciers and the decline of permafrost affect the stability of the mountains. Heavy rainfall events in the mountains can also become more frequent and intense due to climate change. But how do we distinguish between natural processes and the consequences of climate change? How affected is our region around the Wetterstein, and what is the perception of the mountain rescue service?

These three experts are on-site:
Katrin Sedlmeier: Alpine Climatology - German Weather Service
Prof. Michael Krautblatter: Monitoring Partnach Gorge and Höllental Gorge - TUM, Chair of Slope Movements
Toni Vogg: Alpine Mountain Rescue in Transition - Mountain Rescue Service Grainau

Admission: 5:30 PM (Standing Reception)
Start: 6:00 PM
