The year was 1487,
when the Bolzano Market, the main trading center for goods from Italy and the Orient, was moved from Bolzano to Mittenwald. For almost 200 years, trade flourished in Mittenwald, bringing wealth and prosperity to the town.
Since 1987, the Bolzano Market has been held every five years in the center of Mittenwald and has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of the Karwendel Alpine region's event calendar.
The Festival Week
From August 1st to 9th, 2026, history will come alive again, and the center of Mittenwald will be transformed into a historical trade and craft market reminiscent of the 16th century.
Market stalls and wine taverns, artisans and jugglers, merchants and noblemen, theatrical scenes and musical performances create the perfect atmosphere. Don't miss this exciting journey back in time and experience a vibrant yet authentic market atmosphere and a very special supporting program at the Puit spa resort.
