Tour description

The winter hike to Wildensee (1,136 m) begins at the valley station of the Kranzberg chairlift. First, follow the Way along the crosses on the Kalvarienberg until the hiking trail branches off to the left and passes above the Alpengasthof Gröblalm. After a while, the path joins the road to Berggasthof Wildensee and runs through the Kranzberg ski area. Steeper and flatter passages alternate here before the route flattens out to Berggasthof Wildensee. After a leisurely rest or refreshment stop, follow the hiking trail past Wildensee towards the "Gebirgsjäger Ehrenmal" memorial at Hoher Brendten. Continue along the road to the valley station of the Luttensee lifts. From there, you can use the ski and guest bus from the valley station of the Luttensee ski lifts back down to Mittenwald. Alternatively, you can return to the valley station of the Kranzberg chairlift from there.
