Start: Kranzberg chairlift - valley station - Destination: Car park Luttensee lifts
The winter hike from Mittenwald to the idyllic Wildensee leads into the hiking area at the Kranzberg, which offers a wide range of tours both in summer and in the winter months. The special feature of the tour, besides the picturesque Wildensee, is the panoramic view of the surrounding peaks.
From the bus stop "Skiparadies Kranzberg/Luttensee" the winter hike to the Wildensee (1.136 m). First follow the Kreuzweg am Kalvarienberg until the trail branches off to the left and passes above the Alpengasthof Gröblalm . After a while, the trail joins the road to the Berggasthof Wildensee and runs through the Skigebiet am Kranzberg. Here, steeper and flatter passages alternate before the trail continues flat to the Berggasthof Wildensee . After a leisurely rest or refreshment stop, follow the hiking trail that leads past the Wildensee lake in the direction of the "GebirgsjägerMemorial" at Hohen Brendten. The rest of the road leads to the valley station of the Lutten lifts. From there, you can use the ski and guest bus from the valley station of the Luttenseelifte back to the valley.
Alternatively, you can return from there to the valley station of the Kranzberg chairlift.
Alternative route & further tips:
Those who wish can ascend via the hiking trail (810) to the nearby Korbinianhütte. From there, hikers can return to the actual route via the winter hiking trail (837), which leads to the Wildensee mountain inn.
