Mittenwalder Hütte

Like an eagle's nest, Mittenwalder Hütte is enthroned at 1,518 metres on Karwendel above Mittenwald. It provides a magnificent view from the Mieminger range, the Wetterstein mountains and the Ammergau Alps to the Ester mountains. Today, the workers accommodation built in 1879 on the Karwendelsteig is a popular excursion destination that has been awarded the environmental quality stamp of the German Alpine Club.

Enjoy freshly prepared delicacies and homemade cakes - most of which are products by local businesses - along with a wonderful view of Mittenwald.

Mittenwalder Hütte can be reached from the valley station of the Karwendel mountain railway along winding paths through the shady forest in approx. 1 ½ to 2 hours.
