Start: Mittenwald - Kranzberg chairlift valley station - Destination: Hoher Kranzberg - Mittenwald
The somewhat challenging hike to the summit of the Hoher Kranzberg rewards you with a breathtaking "open-air" mountain cinema view of the landscape of Alpenwelt Karwendel and can be combined as desired.
The trail starts at the valley station of the Kranzberg chairlift in Mittenwald, which is about a 20-minute walk from the train station. The path leads directly under the lift to the St. Anton mountain inn. Mixed forests and flowering meadows alternate here. The last 800 meters are somewhat steeper: There is a gradient of around 120 meters to overcome here. Alternatively, you can shorten the route with a ride on the single chairlift to St. Anton. After a short refreshment stop, continue to the Kranzberg summit. The climb is quite steep for around 40 minutes until you are rewarded with a gigantic panoramic view of the entire Karwendel Alps. The best place to enjoy this view is on the panoramic loungers there and take a few minutes of peace and quiet to observe and marvel at the wonderful mountain world. The descent is via the Wildensee lake. The route descends briskly through bumpy meadows to Luttensee. From here it is not far back to the starting point.
