Tour description

A lovely hike in the Riedboden nature conservation area. This interesting hike leads you through the "Riedboden" water protection area and the unique flora of the upper Isar river valley. Over about 8 kilometers, enjoy the variety of the plant life around Mittenwald and along the riverbed of the turquoise-green Isar. At the southern end of the Riedboden, cross the Isar river and the main road B2 (caution!), whereupon the hiking trail leads back to Mittenwald through the farmland. This hiking loop is suitable for young and old alike. This hike is also well suited for families with children – a large playground is located at the entrance to the Riedboden.

Those who don't want to hike back to Mittenwald through the farmland can also hike along the riverbed back to the starting point, without crossing the Isar river – recommended for families with children.
