Tour description

The hike to the Brunnsteinhütte lodge begins on Innsbrucker Straße in Mittenwald, just after the large bridge over the Isar river. After the bridge, hikers turn left onto the trail which leads over the railway crossing and under main road 2, into farmland. Now follow the forest road through wide fields to the "Brunnsteinhütte" junction, where the actual ascent to the lodge begins. First hiking through the alpine forest to the impressive suspension bridge on the Sulzleklamm ravine, hikers will reach the cozy Alpine Club lodge at 1.523 meters after about 2 hours. Bavarian delicacies taste particularly delicious on the sunny terrace, thanks to the use of regional ingredients.

Alternative routes & other tips

Those who don't want to start from Mittenwald can park their cars at the parking lot off the main road 2, between Mittenwald and the neighboring town of Scharnitz in Tirol, for a fee of €2.00 (voucher can be redeemed at the lodge). The climb to the lodge begins next to the lodge's supplies cableway, above the parking lot.
