Start: Mittenwald Bahnhofstraße - Destination: Möslalm/Pfeisfütte Karwendeltal outdoor area Scharnitz
The mountain bike tour to the Pfeishütte is undoubtedly one of the most challenging routes in the Karwendel Mountains. The route to the Möslalm is well passable and also suitable for less ambitious bikers or as a day trip for families .
The bike tour to Möslalm and Pfeishütte begins at the station square in Mittenwald with the ride through the nature reserve Riedboden to the neighbouring village of Scharnitz in Tyrol. If you turn left behind the church, you will reachthe entrance to the Karwendel valleys via a tarred road. Pass the GasthofWiesenhof (no refreshment stop)to the Gleierscher Höhe and a short stretch downhill to cross the young Isar . Here begins the partly steep ascent to the Möslalm, whereby short breathers can be taken again and again in the flat sections before there is the opportunity to stop for a drink at the Möslalm . Now the ride continues towards the Pfeishütte at 1,922 metres. Over rough gravel and becoming steeper and steeper, you reach a bikeparking area. From here it is another 300 metres to the hut. Bikers with good physical condition and technical skills can also ride up.
