...sights in upper bavaria...

The frescoes on many of the house facades in Alpenwelt Karwendel are typical of Upper Bavaria. The Baroque church steeple of the parish church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Mittenwald is also artistically painted. They adorn the pedestrian zone of the violin-making town, as well as the “Violin Tree”, small watercourses and old farmhouses.

St. Jakob's in Wallgau, St. Sebastian's in Krün, and the magnificent chapels of the region, for example in the undulating pastures and at Lautersee - The churches define both the landscape and the culture. Many of the farmers gardens are also real eye-catchers and provide splashes of color along the way when hiking or cycling. Enjoy the mountains, cultural flair and the Bavarian way of life!

  • There are three beautiful parish churches and numerous chapels to be discovered in Mittenwald,Krün and Wallgau. They are located on the South-Eastern Bavarian St Jakob's pilgrimage route between the Isar and the Inn.
